Catchers: I really have a good feeling about Santana and was very close to having him ahead of V-Mart, but with Martinez getting lots of starts at 1B, it’s more likely he’ll have better numbers. Heck, he might have better number than Mauer
Joe Mauer- Predicting 19 HR, 86 RBI, .338 AVG, 92 Runs, 89 BB
Victor Martinez
Carlos Santana
Brian McCann
Buster Posey
Matt Wieters- While this isn’t a make or break season by any means, I think he comes to camp extra focused wanting to prove he belongs in this group.
First Base: No surprises here really. Pujols is in another league from everyone on this list. He is our Gehrig or Foxx. Don’t believe me? Ask me again.
Albert Pujols- Predicting 38 HR, 127 RBI, .323 AVG, 104 Runs, 112 BB
Miguel Cabrera
Joey Votto
Adrian Gonzalez
Mark Teixera
Prince Fielder- Fielder will bounce back. Everyone has an off year, but just in case, he’s #6
Second Base: Two man race really. Cano and Utley have the talent to be top 15 picks overall. I took Prado over Phillips because I believe he is less likely to have long slumps. I could be wrong, but we should establish right now that I’m only wrong about hockey. When I’m wrong about baseball we blame the Yankees.
Robinson Cano- Predicting 26 HR, 102 RBI, .335 AVG, 119 Runs, 16 SB
Chase Utley
Dustin Pedroia
Dan Uggla
Martin Prado
Brandon Phillips- I like him better than Pedroia when he’s hurt.
Short Stop:Ramirez is one of the best fantasy players in baseball and is a top 5 pick in pretty much every league. The difference between him and Tulowitzki is the same difference between Tulowitzki and Rollins.
Hanley Ramirez- Predicting 28 HR, 106 RBI, .311 AVG, 114 Runs, 39 SB
Troy Tulowitzki
Jimmy Rollins
Jose Reyes
Derek Jeter
Elvis Andrus- Do I really think Andrus is #6? No. I believe he is #5, but I’m 99% sure if I switched positions with Jeter, Jeter would win the MVP because that’s the kind of person he is.
Third Base: I like Longoria. I think he could win an MVP. I think he might this season.
Evan Longoria- Predicting 39 HR, 127 RBI, .326 AVG, 117 Runs, 112 BB
Alex Rodriguez
David Wright
Ryan Zimmerman
Michael Young
Casey McGehee- He is likely better than 2 of the guys ahead of him and he’ll likely show it, but rather safe than right apparently
Outfield: Is Gonzalez better than Hamilton? He will be this year. I like Crawford to do more as well but I have a soft spot for Hamilton. He could be even better than last season, but he’ll have to do it with less help and injury free
Carlos Gonzalez- Predicting 31 HR, 105 RBI, .304 AVG, 99 Runs, 27 SB
Josh Hamilton
Carl Crawford
Ryan Braun
Matt Kemp
Matt Holiday
Andre Ethier
Chris Young
Jose Bautista
Shin Soo Choo
Justin Upton- He has all the tools to be a superstar player but his head keeps getting in the way. You have to do it first and then act like you have. Just sayin’
Starting Pitchers: No shock who is #1. I flipped a coin for 2 and 3 though. Hernandez, on a better team would be #2, but he isn’t and this is fantasy baseball, where wins count
Roy Halladay- 22 Wins, 11 Losses, 2.38 ERA, 229 IP, 219 Strikeouts
Adam Wainwright
Josh Johnson
Cliff Lee
Tim Lincecum
Jon Lester
CC Sabathia
Ubaldo Jimenez
Felix Hernandez
David Price
Zack Greinke- He’s on a better team and will get more wins and care more as well. He could repeat his 2009 season or split the difference and still be really good
Relief Pitchers: Tougher crowd to choose from and I can imagine those who’ll wonder why Rivera isn’t first on the list. Well, everyone has to retire at some point right? Maybe. I do think Bell is better though and Feliz could be right behind him.
Heath Bell- 4 Wins, 2 Losses, 2.61 ERA, 72 IP, 85 Strikeouts, 44 Saves
Neftali Perez
Mariano Rivera
Raphael Soriano
Joakin Soria
Carlos marmol
Jonathan Broxton
Jonathan Papelbon
Brian Wilson
Jose Valverde
Joe Nathan- if he’s healthy he’ good for 30+ saves and a strikeout+ per inning. That’s the only reason he is on the outside looking in.
