The boys in blue and white continue to
falter as they look headed to another missed post season unless they
somehow can turn it around. A new year is upon us once again and I
though it would better to have my first blog of 2011 take a look at some
better moments and memories in Leafs history, so hear goes Leafs Nation
as we take a stab at the Greatest Toronto Maple Leafs defensemen of all

Tim Horton
Regular Season Leaf Stats: GP- 1,185 G- 109 A- 349 PTS- 458
Playoff Season Leaf Stats: GP- 97 G- 9 A- 32 PTS- 41
Horton was considered the most revered defensemen of his time and seemed invincible on the ice, he was a three time first team all star and three time second team all star, Horton would win four Stanley Cups and his name will live on thanks to the very popular donut and coffee chain we all love.
Elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1977
Borje Salming

Playoff Season Leaf Stats: GP- 81 G- 12 A- 37 PTS- 49
Salming is a national hero in his native Sweden and his brilliance led to a rebirth of great hockey in Toronto. Salming was named a one time first team all star, five time second team and is said to have opened the floodgates to the NHL for Europeans. He still holds the clubs record for all time regular season assists.
Elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1996

Day was a steady Leafs blueliner and captured one Stanley Cup with the club in 1932. Day who's real name was Clarence was nicknamed Happy due to his positive outlook and he also went on to coach the club to five Stanley Cups.
